A facelift in the full sense of the word. While rear 'only' the lamps and the lower half of the bumper changed, there is an entire new design of the headlamps, radiator grille and other parts of the front. One can speak of a much more attractive face with xenon and optional matrix light.

The changes are obviously made in the entire A3 family at the same time, the sedan, the S-versions, the hybrid and the natural gas version (etron/gtron). The range of gasoline engines is supplemented by a three- cylinder with 81 kW (110 hp) and 200 Nm (2000-3500 Nm) and a 2 l four-cylinder with 140 kW (190 hp) and 320 Nm (1500-4200 Nm).

In addition to six in manual speed there are seven in double clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive available at least in the most powerful gasoline engine. Like in the A4, the cockpit is a computer based 12.3 inch screen and can be switched between large instruments or smaller ones with additional animated background.Similarly to the higher classes the SIM card belongs to the standard equipment.

The A3 was already equipped with Phone Box, Lane Keeping and Distance Assistant. The MMI system is significantly upwards adjusted to the upper-class standard,e.g. by enhanced voice control. The car is able to run autonomously on well-marked roads up to 65 km/h. It can decelerate or brake before crossing traffic or pedestrians. It gives warning in periods of inactivity on the steering wheel and automatically maintains the correct distance from the vehicle ahead, almost everything of course optional. 04/16
