It is famous because of its fabulous aerodynamics with eg a drag coefficient of 0.30. But also its preventions against the consequences of accidents and its resource-saving kind are impressive. But
let's start with the first e.g. the new frameless windows, the somewhat complicate the usual cranking then in the normal equipment. They are flush with the outside and are guided by pins in guide rails or adhesively
bonded, as front and rear window.
As far the most striking changes. But what is not to see, the not increased weight despite the greater dimensions by window frames and front bumper made of light metal and, for
example, pan from plastic material for the spare wheel. The body is galvanized only the roof does not and this then also from 1985.
Particular praise is due to the developers because it is a sedan and not a coupe

Regarding the engine, the BMW it is however superior with the smoothly running six-cylinder. Instead, the slightly rougher five-cylinder scores points because it has to do with
this wonderful aerodynamics. Incidentally, the cross-sectional area is quite similar. Almost 20 km/h it is faster than the equally strong W123 and also in consumption worlds separate it from the other two.
