Excavator
An excavator can be equipped with a crawler or wheeled chassis. The latter makes it roadworthy with steerable axles. But in difficult terrain
the crawler chassis is more effective, even for very large excavators this is no guarantee of slipping or tipping.
However, tipping is to be prevented using the extension arm in a suitable and timely manner. For very rough terrain the undercarriage of the
excavator can be equipped with four walking legs (video above), wheels or feet at the ends. Then the work is possible in almost any terrain.
Depending on the to-reach working height the extension arm can be angled as monoblock or split with appropriate hydraulics. For larger
excavators it is to always revolvable upper carriage usually adjustable only in the height, with smaller additionally turnable in itself.
For operating the safety lever is the most important. It puts all possible movements out of force. Leaving the cabin is virtually impossible
without operating it. The two foot pedals acting on the chains left and right. At different operating steering movements are possible.
Dragging the left control lever (joystick) sideways makes possible the pivotal movement of the upper carriage. Pulling the lever reduces the
distance to the scoop, pressing enlarges it, all the way straight above the ground. Raising, lowering or tilting of the scoop is possible by
operating the right joystick. 05/16
