Screen
There are vehicles with large, small or no screen in the middle, if available in monochrome or in color, with the resolution also playing a decisive role. The operation is indicated by actual touch or in the manner of a
hand kiss. Only in more recent times are there gestures. First, relatively carefully, but now with power with the risk of faulty operation.
Screens can be too deeply integrated or too high. The latter are praised because of the easier change from road to display, but sometimes remind you too much of the usual computer workplace that you may have just
left.
When it comes to operation, this is obviously done not by the screen, but by the computer behind it, sometimes armed to the teeth with digital power. Also, for ease of operation, additional real keys can be arranged at
the edge of the screen, fixedly assigned or even freely assignable.
Such a computer is usually also without a screen. The display is either animated partly in the rev counter or speedometer (figure above), or in a separate field in between. Four buttons located somewhere on the
dashboard or steering wheel are sufficient for operation. Well, if '+' and '-' are there, you can even configure numbers.
And then there is the voice control, from which experts think it has very little distraction from the driving experience. Although the communication clearly differs from the human, for in what dialogue would the one partner
constantly repeat what the other has said. After all, the sensible recording of language has become much better.
We leave the control via the rotary push button and/or a small display on the center console aside. For the configuration, it is important to take the time to do so only when the vehicle is at a standstill. And do not
operate the touch screen with wet or wet fingers, and keep a soft cloth to remove the tracks.
Should the aid be as cryptic as the one of the financial authority to complete your taxation, an additional laptop with internet connection would not be bad. And repress all thoughts of overdressing, a certain too much of
possibilities and functions. You should have thought about that before you bought the car. You now have it and you have to go through it now. 02/17
