New lightweight Tipper Trailer
Tipper semi-trailers are the first choice when transporting bulk materials. Let's take a look at the payload. The towing vehicle we can assume with 6.5 to 8 tons, if it doesn't not have just
1200 liters of diesel fuel on board, which would mean another ton. Meiller advertises a new lightweight as a semi-trailer. It should as a three-axle still weigh less than at least 4.5 tons, by Schmitz Cargobull. Carefully
calculate with 24 tons of payload.
| The 40 ton limit is due to distribution difficulties seldom reached. |
This is all the more remarkable, as in a dump truck, the structure, such the box at the platform, can not be stabilized by the chassis, but the dump must be as stable as a frame. Add to that the dump truck hydraulics.
Lightweights are more likely to be worthwhile on longer distances, but may be too sensitive for very coarse bulk, not 'shock-consistant' enough. Aluminum has at least 2 millimeters more wall thickness than steel and
is
made more resistant to abrasion than normal. Steel can be used in a mixed construction for the ground or, of course, for the complete dump, too.
But then we talk about 6 to 7 tonnes empty weight. In addition to the dump is also an aluminum chassis possible, but rather seldom. Bulk material can have a very different weight. For agriculture, tilting loads of up to
60, in exceptional cases even up to 84 m3 are possible. This is by no means true, e.g. for gravel, where 24 tonnes of payload can already be achieved at 24 to 27 m3. Therefore the dumps
are
so short that there is still room to the cab for attachments with three axles.
Dumps can not be made in one piece because of their size. The sides and troughs usually overlap significantly before being welded together to prevent bursting. Incredible is the number of assists, which are shown
in detail in the videos. In particular, the safety against lateral tipping when extending the tipper hydraulics with loading is probably a risk. 03/18
